Mailbox Service Truck Text Box: Jumbo Mailbox Repairs A mailbox with an 11" wide letter tray is often referred to as a Jumbo Mailbox. When one of these mailboxes has a missing or broke door it is a very unsightly problem. Does your Jumbo Mailbox look like either of these:

Repairing this problem is more challenging than installing a Replacement Door on a mailbox with a 6" or 8" wide letter tray because the manufacturer does not make a Repalcement Door for a mailbox with an 11" wide letter tray.

 

It is more challenging in terms of the amount of materials and the amount of time the repair takes. The result is a good looking product that is well worth the investment.

 

We make the repair by securing an 8" Replacement Door to an 11" to 8" Adapter Plate and securing it in place. Here's what the completed installation looks like:

Note that the interior space of your mailbox will be reduced somewhat by this repair. The extent to which it is reduced depends on the repair method used, the condition of your mailbox and your personal preference. We will discuss this with you before starting the job.
